Having been given a print of the fire for my birthday in November, my other half presents it to me – framed – for Christmas – lovely!
Yet again snowed in from 17th December. But then got sidetracked helping my other half with proofreading his book (out loud!) for three whole days…not much progress at my end of things.

1834 was also a bad year for German mice. One of the newspapers I was reading reported alongside the fire that: A remarkable phenomenon has been observed in the neighbourhood of Frankfort. It is a sudden malady among the mice, thousands of which are found dead or dying in the fields.
